The Massacre in Koniuchy

On January 29, 1944 in the Polish village of Koniuchy of the Vilnius region, a heinous crime was committed against the ethnic Polish civilians. Bands of Soviets, composed predominantly of Jewish “partisans”, massacred the villagers, killing at least 38 people (including many women and small children), and wounding many more.
It was one of several operations of pacifications in that period of time, and probably the best documented. There are numerous German, Lithuanian, Polish and Soviet sources available about this slaughter, and surprisingly even Jewish.
Yet the Western and Jewish historiography has attributed this massacre to… the combat of anti-German campaign; as capturing a heavily fortified German “fascists” garrison that suffered a huge defeat, allegedly killing as many as 300 Nazis without any loss to Jewish-Bolshevik lives!
An investigation initiated by IPN several years ago (after collecting evidence and determining the number of personal data by up to several dozen participants in the Canadian Polish Congress), showed no specific results and probably never will…

Should it be the other way around; if the victims were Jewish, then the case would have been long known to the whole world.
In post-war period; Genrikas Zimanas (Enoch Ziman), the Secretary of the South Oblast Committee of the Communist Party of Lithuania, at the time the commander of the so-called Southern Partisan Brigade (who died in 1985.), has received from the authorities of the Polish People’s Republic a War Cross Order of Military Virtue.
After the war many participants of this horrible crime were actively serving as well-earned veterans and persons of merit historians, boasting about this important militant action that ‘should be’ publicly praised.
However, when the real course of events was determined and revealed, silence befell.
Well…almost, for every now and then the newly revealed and documented crime is being questioned.
Pol Bagriański was the eye-witness and participant who provided his own testimony:
“When I reached the detachment to deliver new orders, I saw a scary, very scary picture. […] In a small clearing of the forest, veiled in semicircular moonlight laid the bodies of undressed victims of six women of different ages and two men, placed on their backs..
One by one, the jewish guerrillas fired shots in between the corpses legs. The bodies twitched and contorted for a few seconds, the nerves still reacting to the rounds of bullets. The corpses of women reacted in a more violent manner than men. All the partisans of this brigade took part in this cruel massacre having fun and laughing in a wild frenzy.
At first I was terrified at seeing this horrifying cruelty, but then in sickening way I took interest. […] They were in no hurry to end it  until the deceased bodies no longer responded to the bullets shot at them. Only then the Bolsheviks relocated to a new position. ”
“When the village of Koniuchy became just a memory full of ashes and corpses, the commander gathered all the troops and thanked them for their well-done task, and gave orders for preparation to return to the base.
The Bolshevik “partisans “were tired, but their faces were aglow with happiness and satisfaction of the task completed.
Only a few were aware of the terrible murder that was committed within an hour. Those few looked sad and felt a sense of guilt. […] We arrived at the base late at night. I was tired and worn out, so I fell asleep right away. The next day the remaining troops were greeted as heroes for the destruction of Koniuchów. They drank, ate and sang all night. They seemed to take pleasure in the killings and destruction, and then especially in drinking, celebrating the slaughter of innocent people”.
