Please see below my letter to the Company Secretary, the Legal Manager, the Managing Editor and the Editor of the Daily Mirror.
Dear Sir/Madam,
It may be that you know by now, that the story in the Mirror today concerning me is utterly false and defamatory.
Your story, which can only have been filed by someone who had taken leave of their senses, claimed that I had made “anti-Semitic remarks” at the anti-EU rally in Westminster, that I had spoken about Iran at the event and in that context, and that “hundreds” “stormed out” of the rally as a result of the aforementioned falsehoods.
The speech was telecast live to thousands of people, was heard by 1,500 people in person including privy counsellors, former ministers and members of parliament, and more importantly the video of the entire speech is readily available.

When you view it you will see:
1. There were no hundreds storming out;
2. There were no anti-Semitic remarks;
3. I did not talk about Iran.
Your report including the outrageous headline is a fabrication and an absolutely defamatory one at that.
I need you to immediately remove the article, to publish a full and unqualified apology, and in lieu of costs ( I have none, I will represent myself in any subsequent action your failure to comply may force me to take) you must make a contribution to a Palestinian charity of my choice of a sum to be agreed between us.
I am deadly serious about this. I will not allow this defamatory attack to stand. You must act immediately.
I am releasing this letter to the media and publishing it on social media. As you know I am a candidate for the London Mayoralty and I must challenge your lies in real time.
