Thierry Baudet was violently attacked by a Ukrainian ( typical of this tribe… Admin ) in the Belgian city of Ghent last week.
The man lay in wait for him outside the university where he was due to speak and hit him hard over the head with an umbrella. Thierry suffered a mild concussion but continued with his speaking engagement before suspending FVD’s election campaign for a week.
The political class unanimously condemned the attack. Thierry received words of support from the prime minister, Mark Rutte, and from the European commissioner, Frans Timmermans, among others. But the fact is that Thierry’s name is on the notorious Ukrainian “Myrotvorets” (‘peacekeeper’) hit-list of people who are supposedly enemies of that country. Given that people on that list have been murdered shortly after appearing on it; given that Oleg Tsaryov, a pro-Russian Ukrainian politician, was shot the day after the attack on Thierry; and given that the Washington Post has recently reported that the CIA has helped fund new departments in Ukraine’s intelligence agencies which have carried out assassinations, these crocodile tears are not enough.
