   HERE’S THEIR APOLOGETIC ANSWER:

   Dear Mr Jarosz,

   on the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust the Deutsches Historisches Museum showed the film „Sobibór“ by Claude Lanzmann. Unfortunately a serious mistake in the announcement in the programme booklet occurred: We described the extermination camp Sobibór wrongly as “Polish extermination camp”. We corrected the mistake immediately on all online channels and we also print a new and correct version of the programme booklet.

   We did not intend in any way to create a false image of the historical context. Our main aim is to point the attention to the atrocities and crimes committed by the Germans under the Nazi dictatorship.
   We deeply regret this mistake and apologize sincerely for it.

     Bravo Rob ! Thanks for your great work. And so have I been recently involved in correcting a booklet relating Edith Stein biography published by the …( sit down !).. Australian Catholic Truth Society, which has been reprinted since 1967 with the permission by the Society of St Peter Canisius in Melbourne, where on page 21 the sentence of Polish concentration camps is mentioned. It has recently came to my attention by an elderly Polish woman, a devout Catholic whose heart is broken over this misleading information. I instantly got into action. Here is their response:

     AustLit certainly does not want to be in the position of passing on misinformation, and we are sorry that anything on the database should cause you such distress.

     I would like to clarify, so that I can be absolutely certain that I’m addressing your specific concerns: your concern is that locations of extermination camps (in the occupied territories of Poland) are given in AustLit as being in Poland itself. (For example, works about Treblinka show up as ‘Treblinka, Poland’.)

     I agree that this is not an accurate way of representing the situation. AustLit did not intend this as a political statement (it is purely a maladroit geographical option), but we would prefer that it not stand, especially if it does cause distress, as it did to you. In consultation with my colleague, I have created a location for ‘Occupied Poland (1939-1945)’ and have moved the following locations to it: Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, and Belzec. I have manually checked all the other locations that we have listed as being in Poland, to confirm that the others are all towns and not part of the extermination camp network, and did not find any others. But if I have overlooked any locations, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

       Amazing job done as well. It’s unbelievable that 16 mln Jews or so worldwide can wreak such successful havoc among the majority of the nations, Poland particularly. We must muster up enough courage in the international movement of all 60 mln or so people of the Polish extraction all around the world and determinedly stand up against the anti-Polish smear campaign carried out by these Talmudic lucipherians!!!
